The Sweet Sugar Twins.....
.....aren't doing the greatest. They both remain pretty shriveled but at least Butterscotch is showing signs of recovery. She's starting to plump up her newly matured pseudobulb. The two next largest bulbs are still very shriveled but the smallest pseudobulb, unseen in this picture, remains plump. The roots show no stress and she's looking good. I believe she will acclimatize without any further issue.
Her sister, Buttercup on the other hand.....
.....is not only in bad shape, I believe she is getting more shriveled. The ridges on her bulbs are more pronounced than they were before and all of her pseudobulbs are in similar shape, down to her tiny one. Her roots, however, seem to be doing just fine. There's nothing to do but wait I guess. I'll be flushing next week with a root stimulant, so maybe that will be the boost she needs.
Rudy the cutie.....
.....is really taking off with her flower spike. She's had a great summer growing her root system and filling in her pot and its showing now with how rapidly the spike is taking off. This is a great comparison with my phalaenopsis that are in spike at home. They are growing their spikes at a slower pace. Rudy is an established plant and in near perfect health, while the two phals at home (which are doing relatively well in their new medium) are still under stress and therefore slower to grow.
This progress is quite impressive in just three days, I have to say. I can't wait to watch the spike grow and form into buds! I will be taking plenty of pictures of the progress.
